Recorded Workshop: Developing and Delivering a Bible Talk
For those who have never taught but might want to. And for those who have taught but want to get better at it!
• Overcoming Challenges to Teaching the Bible
• Basics to Putting Together a Bible Tal
• Bringing Passion and Personality to Your Teaching
• Q&A
Agreeing to teach the Bible, preparing to teach the Bible, and then actually getting up front to teach the Bible to others can be intimidating. Why is it so hard? Lots of reasons. We want to handle the Word of God well and really don’t want to get it wrong. We want to connect with those we’re teaching and really don’t want to be boring. We’re afraid our listeners will ask us questions we can’t answer, afraid we’ll forget what we were going to say, and afraid we’ll see someone falling asleep! So why do it? Why give the time to the preparation and put ourselves out there to teach? Because we know that God works through his Word, and we have the sense that maybe he might be willing to work through us as we teach it. Because we get excited about what the Bible reveals about the person and work of Christ and we want to share that excitement with others.
I often interact with women who love to study the Bible and have a sense that maybe they could teach the Bible, but they’re just not sure how to take their thoughts and discoveries in a passage and organize them into a message. There are many approaches to putting together a message. And in four hours we certainly can’t cover what a seminary homiletics course would cover. But I can show you the basics of how I go about putting together a message as well as talk through some of the challenges and keys to getting your message across.
You’re invited to spend four hours with me and other women who have the same desire to teach the Bible well via this recording of an online workshop I did in November of 2020.
To get the most our of our time together, there’s some work you’ll need to do on your own in advance. When you register, you’ll be sent a link to a pdf that will include a worksheet to help you figure out how you might put together a talk on Numbers 6:22-27. Be sure to spend some time on that prior to accessing the videos of the workshop.
Purchase your registration for the recorded workshop by adding the registration product below to your cart. Then scroll up to find the shopping cart in the top right corner of your screen and check out. After you check out you will immediately go to an order confirmation page. On that order confirmation page will be the link to a 6-page pdf which has the information and resources you need to access the video of the workshop. So before you do anything else, click on the link on it and save that pdf before it disappears. The easiest and best way to get your pdf which you need to access the workshop is to click on the pdf link on that confirmation page and save it onto your computer.
You will also immediately receive an e-mail with the subject heading “Your Digital Downloads” with the same link to the pdf called. Here’s the very important thing you need to know: the link to the pdf will expire in 24 hours (I know. What a hassle. Wish I could override that.) This means that you have 24 hours to open it, save it, and print it so you will have everything you need before it disappears. If you are making this purchase on your phone, we strongly suggest you open, access, save and print the “Your Digital Downloads” from a laptop or desktop computer within 24 hours so that you can more easily save and print the pdf. Nothing further will be sent to you so it is essential that you download and save this pdf within 24 hours. And if you think I’m repeating this too much, I’m doing that because so many people send me an e-mail later telling me they didn’t save the pdf or can’t find it and need to have the pdf resent to them.
The registration fee is per participant. If you are gathered with others to participate in the workshop, please purchase a registration for each participant. Thank you.
If you have any problems with your order or download, just send a message using the contact page on this website and we’ll give you the help you need.
