Respite Retreat Application

As of February 8, the May 14-16 and May 21-23 retreats are now full. We are currently keeping a wait list of couples who would like to be notified should there be a cancellation at one of these retreats. To be added to that list, please send a message respiteregistrar@nancyguthrie.com and indicate which of the two weekends you could come if a spot becomes available.

While we do not currently plan to host any additional retreats in Nashville in 2021, we are working with two couples to start two satellite Respite Retreats later this year— one at a beach location in Alabama and another on the Guadeloupe River in Texas. We hope to be able to schedule those two retreats for the fall of 2021 and open registration this spring. If you would like to be notified when registration for those retreats opens, or when the next Respite Retreat hosted by the Guthries in Nashville is scheduled, please send us a message respiteregistrar@nancyguthrie.com.

To apply, please fill out and send the following form. We respectfully ask that you fill it out using a desktop or laptop rather than on your phone as some of the sections require a lengthy reply. It is essential that both husband and wife provide information on the application. Occasionally we ask registrants to provide additional information after receiving their application.

You can submit the non-refundable $350 registration fee one of two ways. Our preferred way, if you have a Venmo account, is to send the funds via Venmo to: @RespiteRetreat. You can mail a check made out to Respite Retreat to: 1053 Stockett Drive, Nashville, TN 37221. (Both of these payment forms eliminate the fees incurred by credit card or PayPal payments.)

Also, send as high resolution as possible snapshot of the two of you (a “selfie” with your two faces together taken in good lighting with no sunglasses or additional people is ideal) and a high resolution photo of your child. Email those photos to respiteregistrar@nancyguthrie.com.

Your place at the retreat is secured only after this application, the deposit, and both photos are received. At that point we will email you a confirmation that will include additional information you’ll need, including hotel registration information.

GriefShare is a small group ministry held in around 12,000 churches around the country. The groups use a video series hosted by David and Nancy. We strongly encourage you to see if there is a GriefShare group that meets near you where you can be with other people week-by-week who are grieving as well as take in the wisdom presented in the videos. Waiver and Attestation

I acknowledge the contagious nature of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and that the CDC and many other public health authorities still recommend practicing social distancing. I acknowledge that I voluntarily choose to attend Respite Retreat/David & Nancy Guthrie, to participate in meetings and activities involving the assembly of people and that I am thereby increasing my risk to exposure to the Coronavirus/COVID-19. I further acknowledge that Respite Retreat/David & Nancy Guthrie, has put in place preventative measures to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19. I acknowledge that I must comply with all set procedures to reduce the spread while in attendance throughout the retreat. I further acknowledge that Respite Retreat/David & Nancy Guthrie cannot guarantee that I nor any other person participating in Respite Retreat will not become infected with the Coronavirus/Covid-19. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected by the Coronavirus/COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others. I attest that: * I will not attend if I am experiencing any symptom of illness such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell. * I will not attend if I have traveled internationally within the previous 14 days. * I will not attend if I believe I have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of the Coronavirus/COVID-19. * I will not attend if I have been diagnosed with Coronavirus/Covid-19 and not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities. I hereby release and agree to hold harmless Respite Retreat/David & Nancy Guthrie from, and waive on behalf of myself, my heirs, and any personal representatives any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses and compensation for damage or loss to myself and/or property that may be caused by any act, or failure to act of Respite Retreat/David & Nancy Guthrie or that may otherwise arise in any way in connection with the retreat. I understand that this release discharges Respite Retreat/David & Nancy Guthrie from any liability or claim that I, my heirs, or any personal representatives may have against it with respect to any bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, or property damage that may arise from, or in connection to, the retreat.
